White Testalonga, Cortez 2021
One of the wines from cult winemaker Craig Hawkins in South Africa. Cortez is a cuvée based on Chenin Blanc (or Steen as they say in the country) from a vineyard in Paardeberg planted in 1972 and vinified in stainless steel and older 500-litre barrels. The result is a wine packed with aromatics of pear, white peach, fynbos underlined with a lot of acidity. If a wine could have energy, this would be it!
